MedTech, Center of Entrepreneurship in the field of MediElectronics and Health Informatics is being set up by consortia comprising of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), SGPGI Lucknow, Department of IT and Electronics, Government Of UP, Association Of Indian Medical Device Industry (AIMED ), Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ)). The objectives of setting the same are to boost start-ups in the field of medical equipment/electronics & health informatics, and, to contribute to “Make-in-India” & “Digital India” programs of Govt. of India by reducing Health Care Equipment imports and recognize the value of Health Care Equipment & Technology locally. Apart from physical infrastructure, the CoE will have the access to Technocrat/Medical practitioners mentorship, mentorship programs and VC funding, Legal and IPR support, Marketing assistance etc.
Who Can Apply

The start-up must be incorporated as a
- Private Limited Company (as defined in the Companies Act, 2013) or
- Registered Partnership Firm (Regd. under section 59 of the Partnership Act, 1932) or
- Limited Liability Partnership (under the Liability Partnership Act 2008)
- The date of registration/incorporation must not be beyond 10 years.
Annual Turnover
Start-up should have an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 100 crore for any of the financial years since its incorporation. Original Entity An entity should not have been formed by splitting up or reconstructing an already existing business.
Innovative & Scalable
Entity working towards innovation, development, or improvement of products, processes, or services or if it is a scalable business model with high potential of employment generation or wealth creation.
Terms & Conditions
- Start-ups have to operate from the MedTech CoE Incubation facility at STPI Lucknow CoE at SGPGI.
- Each start-up will be offered incubation space as per their requirement.
- Each start-up has to offer designated equity to STPI as per the present valuation.
- The start-up has to pay designated services charges per seat per month for availing incubation facilities.
- The incubates under product development and R&D shall be offered discount as per the STPI Incubation Policy.
Focus Areas
Startups having innovative Idea/Product/Solution in following focus area:
- IoT-Based Health Monitoring System Development and Analysis.
- Handheld monitors and diagnostic tools.
- Connected medical devices.
- Any medical related electronic/IoMT device.
The focus area is not limited to above problem statements only. Any other product/solution which caters to one or more of the domains is invited.

Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) is STPI’s comprehensive incubation scheme which has a vision to drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation so as to make India a global player in development, production and supply of Innovative, Efficient and Secure Software Products thus facilitating the growth across the entire spectrum of ICT sector as envisioned in the National Policy on Software Products (NPSP) – 2019.
NextGen Start-up Challenge Contest (CHUNAUTI – Challenge Hunt Under NGIS for Advanced Uninhibited Technology Intervention) is a series of online Challenges under NGIS.STPI has been strengthening the start-up ecosystem, through policies, initiatives, and creation of 360-degree ecosystem. The current digital era where technology adoption has been high in the urban, educated and high to mid income group population, the rural, less formally educated and low-income group population is still in the digital inaccessibility group. The ecosystem trends also clearly highlight that the sectors contributing significantly towards $1 Tn economy focus on the inaccessibility group. It is also seen that physically disabled population also forms a significant share of digital inaccessibility group. The inaccessibility group mostly resides in and around Tier II and III cities therefore the need is for hyper localized digital products/solution. Accordingly, to boost the localized innovations from Tier II & III cities, through CHUNAUTI 3.0 STPI is looking to identify and support promising startup working towards digital transformation & accessible products/solutions enabling equitable & inclusive growth with focus on sectors like Agriculture, Education, Healthcare & Wellness, Banking & Finance, E-commerce, and Environment etc. As in the previous contests, selected startups would be given physical infrastructure, funding assistance, access to networks, connects, learning and resources that are needed to build a scalable, profitable and global business.
WHO CAN APPLY
The eligibility criteria for a start-up to apply in the CHUNAUTI3.0 program shall be as follows:
- The challenge invites the proposals/applications from Indian Start-ups# who are working in domain related to software product development.
- Start-ups registered with DPIIT under start-up India programme are encouraged to participate in this programme.
- Individual Academicians, Researchers, Educators, Entrepreneurs, partnership firms, LLPs may also participate, however, if they are selected then they will have to register as private limited company in a stipulated time (preferably within 3 months).
#At least 51% shareholding with Indian citizen or person of Indian origin. The applicant’s entity should not be a subsidiary company of any foreign corporation.
Note:
The Start-ups submitting the proposals/applications can be in any of the following stages.
- Ideation Stage Start-up: An individual or team of individuals has an innovative product idea and wish to focus on developing that idea into a business.
- Validation Stage Start-up: A validated proof-of-concept exists in a way that the prototype is anticipated to be ready in the foreseeable future.
- Early Traction Start-up: The product has been validated and the start-up needs support in establishing itself as a business.
- Scaling Stage Start-up: The start-up has initial revenue from customers and needs support in scaling its business & product portfolio.
Alternatively, the prototype is ready and awaiting testing and validation.

Digital Accessibility:
- Products/Solutions for improving digital accessibility across India specifically for Persons with Disabilities (Mental Health/Speech/Visual/Hearing/Cognitive Impairment).
Digital Inclusion:
- Digital Products/Solutions to enable & enhance technology adoption by general populace beyond the constraints of language barriers, digital literacy, digital resources etc.
- Digital Products/Solutions to catalyse inclusion of larger populace under Govt. Schemes/Programs & Benefits (e.g., flagship pension, insurance schemes, etc.).
- Digital Products/Solutions for providing access to quality content using innovative techniques in education, healthcare etc. to larger populace
- Digital Products/Solutions for unique local level problems in particular sectors/domains like aquaculture, agriculture, skill etc for benefit of those sectors/domains.
- Other assistive technology solution addressing a pressing need not covered above.

SELECTION PROCESS
Screening, Evaluation & Selection:
√ Designated Committee(s) shall be formed for Screening, Evaluation & Selection.
√ All the applications received shall be subject to a rigorous centralized multi-tier screening process with involvement of appropriate experts from respective domain and/or location as deemed fit.
√ Decision of the designated Committee(s) shall be final & binding on all.
DURATION
√ Duration of NGIS is 3 years.
√ Selected individual beneficiary start-up can avail benefits of NGIS in three phases of Nurture, Develop & market extended over 2 years.
OFFERINGS
- Ready to work Plug-n-Play incubation space along with highspeed internet access within the constraint of lockdown & thereafter.
- Networking opportunities/Industry connect and Go-to market support for exhibiting/showcasing products/solutions through various National/International events/workshops/exhibitions.
- Full-fledged security & vulnerability testing of Software Products through the dedicated Software Product Security Testing (SPST) facility.

FINANCIAL INCENTIVES
- A seed funding of up to Rs. 25.00 Lakhs will be provided through Financial Institution to each beneficiary/supported Start-ups selected through CHUNAUTI under NGIS based on innovative idea, novel solutions, strong team & sound business proposal.
- Disbursal of seed fund to Start-ups will be based on milestones achieved, periodic review and recommendations.
- Seed funding to Start-ups will be against equity participation by STPI or its affiliate.
- Start-ups who are in ideation stage may be selected under pre-incubation programme & mentored for up to six months to evolve their business plan & solution around the proposed idea. Each intern (max 3 interns per start-up under pre-incubation) will be paid Rs. 10,000/- per month for a period of up to 6 months.
- Cloud Credits from leading third-party service providers.

FinBlue offers an integrated program for start-ups to scale up through its incubation facility. The FinBlue Incubation program includes premium plug and play co-working space for tech start-ups and offers access to the Fintech ecosystem which comprises of user bankers, financial institutions, mentors, investors and a platform to support GoTo Market strategy.

Bengaluru to promote the startups in IoT domain. STPI CoE- IoTOpenLab has become Operational since 21st September 2020.
WHO CAN APPLY

IMAGE CoE runs a six-month accelerator program for Gaming, Animation, VFX, Computer Vision&AI Start-Ups and provides mentor support, seed-funding, product growth exercises, opportunity to raise their subsequent round of funding through our investment partners, and other valuable resources/support.
Who Can Apply
- The IMAGE CoE invites the proposals/applications from Indian Start-ups who are working in Gaming, Animation, VFX and CVAI
- Start-ups registered with DPIIT under start-up India programme are encouraged to participate in this programme. The definition of Start-ups prescribed by DPIIT is reproduced below and subject to change from time to time.

Apart from physical infrastructure, the CoE will have the access to Technocrat/Medical practitioners mentorship, mentorship programs and VC funding, Legal and IPR support, Marketing assistance etc.

Keeping in view the potential of Blockchain technology, MeitY has approved setting of an STPI CoE in Blockchain at Gurugram. The First Cohort of Apiary CoE consisting of 10 start-ups has completed its Boot Camp and preparing for pitching to the Investors. The Second Idea Challenge Programme (ICP 2.0) is being launched on Friday, 27th Aug 2021.
Who Can Apply
- Apiary’s ICP 2.0 invites the proposals/applications from Indian Start-ups who are working in Blockchain.
- Start-ups registered with DPIIT under start-up India programme are encouraged to participate in this program. The definition of Start-ups prescribed by DPIIT is reproduced below and subject to change from time to time.
Company Registration: The start-up must be registered/incorporated within last 10 years as on date of opening of challenge.
Annual Turnover: Start-up should have an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 100 crore for any of the financial years since its incorporation.

Idea Challenge Program 2.0 would be organized in three (3) phases.
Phase-1: Submission of Applications by eligible start-ups, founders & entrepreneurs.
Phase-2: Shortlisting of Ideas, POCs and Solutions having strong potential from the received applications.
Phase-3: Selection of start-ups for this program through pitch-in session to the ‘Selection Committee’.
Duration
Apiary, A CoE in Blockchain Technology will conduct Idea Challenge Program 2.0 from 27th Aug 2021 – 19th Sep 2021 to select innovative start-ups& entrepreneurs in Blockchain Technology for its second cohort. In this cohort selected start-ups will get chance to incubate for period ranging from 3 months to 6 months. During the Incubation Period, the start-ups will undergo an intense mentorship to deliver time bound results. The start-ups will also undergo the Master Classes which will help them understand the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and build solution to the problems identified by them.
Post Incubation selected start-ups may get chance to participate in Acceleration Program for 9 months. During the Acceleration Program, the start-ups shall receive the knowledge through various masterclasses conducted periodically such as Go to market with a MVP, Marketing (traditional and digital) & Proactive Selling Skills Data Analysis and Sustainable Business Model Pitching to the investor & Scaling the Business. APIARY CoE will also help these start-ups raise an investment up to Rs. Twenty Five lakhs from potential Investors, Partner and their Associates based on their own discretion.
In each cohort selected startups will get chance to incubate for period ranging from 3 months to 6 months. - Transforming the start-ups from idea level to Prototype level, Prototype level to MVP (Minimum Viable Product) level, MVP level to GTM (GoToMarket) level and graduating the start-ups into full-fledged company status.

Blockchain Platforms of AWS, IBM and Intel:
STPI has signed MoU with Amazon, IBM & Intel for making their platforms available to start-ups of the STPI CoEs.

Incentives
MedTech CoE shall support through initial seed support upto 2.5 Lakh and guide start-ups for raising funds towards PoC, MVP and Marketing as well as scaling up through grants, equity and debt by leveraging connections with potential customers and CSR/ Corporate sources as well as angels, High Net worth Individuals (HNIs) and VCs as per appropriate size of start-ups.
PRIZE

Blockchain technology is considered to be the biggest invention since Internet. It has already taken the world by storm and provides immense potential to change the way transactions are done in the present world. Keeping in view the potential of Blockchain technology, MeitY has approved setting of an STPI CoE in Blockchain at Gurugram. The First Cohort of Apiary CoE consisting of 10 start-ups has completed its Boot Camp and preparing for pitching to the Investors. The Second Idea Challenge Programme (ICP 2.0) is being launched on Friday, 27th Aug 2021.
Who Can Apply
- Apiary’s ICP 2.0 invites the proposals/applications from Indian Start-ups who are working in Blockchain.
- Start-ups registered with DPIIT under start-up India programme are encouraged to participate in this program. The definition of Start-ups prescribed by DPIIT is reproduced below and subject to change from time to time.
Company Registration: The start-up must be registered/incorporated within last 10 years as on date of opening of challenge.
Annual Turnover: Start-up should have an annual turnover not exceeding Rs. 100 crore for any of the financial years since its incorporation.
Original Entity: Entity should not have been formed by splitting up or reconstructing an already existing business.
Innovative and Scalable: Entity working towards innovation, development or improvement of products, processes or services or if it is a scalable business model with high potential of employment generation or wealth creation.
Individual Academicians, Researchers, Educators, Entrepreneurs, partnership firms, LLPs may also participate. However, if they are selected then they will have to register as private limited company in a stipulated time (preferably within 3 months).

Selection Process
Idea Challenge Program 2.0 would be organized in three (3) phases.
Phase-1: Submission of Applications by eligible start-ups, founders & entrepreneurs.
Phase-2: Shortlisting of Ideas, POCs and Solutions having strong potential from the received applications.
Phase-3: Selection of start-ups for this program through pitch-in session to the ‘Selection Committee’.
Duration
Apiary, A CoE in Blockchain Technology will conduct Idea Challenge Program 2.0 from 27th Aug 2021 – 19th Sep 2021 to select innovative start-ups& entrepreneurs in Blockchain Technology for its second cohort. In this cohort selected start-ups will get chance to incubate for period ranging from 3 months to 6 months. During the Incubation Period, the start-ups will undergo an intense mentorship to deliver time bound results. The start-ups will also undergo the Master Classes which will help them understand the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and build solution to the problems identified by them.
Post Incubation selected start-ups may get chance to participate in Acceleration Program for 9 months. During the Acceleration Program, the start-ups shall receive the knowledge through various masterclasses conducted periodically such as Go to market with a MVP, Marketing (traditional and digital) & Proactive Selling Skills Data Analysis and Sustainable Business Model Pitching to the investor & Scaling the Business. APIARY CoE will also help these start-ups raise an investment up to Rs. Twenty Five lakhs from potential Investors, Partner and their Associates based on their own discretion.
In each cohort selected startups will get chance to incubate for period ranging from 3 months to 6 months. - Mentors shall identify specific needs at specific time like prototyping/design vendors, small – scale manufacturing vendors, large – scale manufacturing vendors etc. and makes best efforts to connect the start-ups with such ecosystem players.
- Full-time resource presence and organizing peer meetings with mentors at regular intervals.
- Platform for accessing the mentor through an online portal.
- Train/educate start-ups in the fields of research, user experience and business technology courses with cutting edge programming and deep-tech applications.
- Support the start-ups for developing Proof of Concept, provide mentoring for designing & development and help start-ups to convert their idea into a reality.
- Transforming the start-ups from idea level to Prototype level, Prototype level to MVP (Minimum Viable Product) level, MVP level to GTM (GoToMarket) level and graduating the start-ups into full-fledged company status.
- Providing a multidisciplinary approach in developing innovative products based on identified business challenges.
- Support for developing, enhancing and piloting start-ups prototype and business model in a collaborative environment.
- Conducting need-based mentoring sessions on legal, compliance, branding, cyber security, domain technologies etc.
Marketing, Networking & Outreach:
- Beneficiary Incubatees of CoE shall be included in marketing knowledge sessions, conducting road shows, networking events, social media outreach.
- International events/programs shall be organized to attract global visibility.
- CoE’s end-to-end marketing plans will place your start-up on the global map.
- Partnerships with key international promotional agencies shall be carried out for cross border collaboration.
IPR Related Support Services:
STPI has signed MoU with M/s. NRDC (National Research and Development Corporation) for filing Intellectual Property Rights such as Patenting (Drafting & Filing), Trademark, Copyright and any other IPR related support/legal/statutory support.
Blockchain Platforms of AWS, IBM and Intel:
STPI has signed MoU with Amazon, IBM & Intel for making their platforms available to start-ups of the STPI CoEs.

Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) is STPI’s comprehensive incubation scheme which has a vision to drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation so as to make India a global player in development, production and supply of Innovative, Efficient and Secure Software Productsthus facilitating the growth across the entire spectrum of ICT sector as envisioned in the National Policy on Software Products (NPSP) – 2019.
NextGen Start-upChallenge Contest (CHUNAUTI – Challenge Hunt Under NGIS for Advanced Uninhibited Technology Intervention) is a series of online Challenges under NGIS. STPI has been strengthening the start-up eco system, through policies, initiatives, and creation of enabling networks. At present,there is a definite need for a higher percentage of women entrepreneurs in technology which will account for better innovation, increased economic gains and a gender equal society.Accordingly, to achieve a diversified & inclusive start-up ecosystem in India,and to recognize and celebrate the technical prowess of women-led start-ups who are creating cutting-edge technology that are solving some of the biggest problems facing people, our planet, and businesses, STPI through CHUNAUTI 2.0 is looking to identify and support promising startups with a special focus on women-led start-ups working on innovative technology products & solutions in focus sectors like Education, Healthcare & Wellness, Financed, SaaS, E-commerce, Agriculture and Environment, and give them access to networks, connects, learning and resources that are needed to build scalable, profitable and global businesses.
Who Can Apply
The eligibility criteria for a start-up to apply in the CHUNAUTI 2.0 program are as follows:
- The challenge invites the proposals/applications from Indian Start-ups * who are working in domain related to software product development.
- Start-ups registered with DPIIT under start-up India programme are encouraged to participate in this programme.
- Individual Academicians, Researchers, Educators, Entrepreneurs, partnership firms, LLPs may also participate, however, if they are selected then they will have to register as private limited company in a stipulated time (preferably within 3 months).
*At least 51% shareholding with Indian citizen or person of Indian origin.The applicant’s entity should not be a subsidiary company of any foreign corporation.
- To qualify as a “women-led start-up”, the start-up must either be headed by a women entrepreneur OR have a woman as founder or co-founder OR have women as majority stakeholder (at least 33 % of founders’ equity).
Note:
The Start-ups submitting the proposals/applications can be in any of the following stages.
Ideation Stage Start-up: An individual or team of individuals has an innovative product idea and wish to focus on developing that idea into a business.
Validation Stage Start-up: A validated proof-of-concept exists in a way that the prototype is anticipated to be ready in the foreseeable future. Alternatively, the prototype is ready and awaiting testing and validation.
Early Traction Start-up: The product has been validated and the start-up needs support in establishing itself as a business.
Scaling Stage Start-up: The start-up has initial revenue from customers and needs support in scaling its business & product portfolio.

- Selected individual beneficiary start-up can avail benefits of NGIS in three phases of Nurture, Develop & market extended over 2 years.

Financial Incentives
- A seed funding of upto Rs. 25.00 Lakhs will be provided through Financial Institution to each beneficiary/supported Start-ups selected through CHUNAUTI under NGIS based on innovative idea, novel solutions, strong team & sound business proposal.
- Disbursal of seed fund to Start-ups will be based on milestones achieved, periodic review and recommendations.
- Seed funding to Start-ups will be against equity participation by STPI or its affiliate.
- Start-ups who are in ideation stage may be selected under pre-incubation programme & mentored for up to six months to evolve their business plan & solution around the proposed idea. Each intern (start-up under pre-incubation) will be paid Rs. 10,000/- per month for a period of up to 6 months.
