AIC STPI Bengaluru

STPI’s aim is to build a vibrant pan-India start-up eco-system. STPI and Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog are collaborating together to build an AIC STPI Bengaluru in Bengaluru for innovative start-ups working in specific domains.

The AIC aligns with STPI as well as with shared vision of NITI Aayog to support, promote and grow culture of innovation leading to start-ups & successful entrepreneurs. STPI Bengaluru AIC’s focus area will be IoT and its applications in Health & Pharmaceuticals, E-Commerce, BigData, Artificial Intelligence etc.

The STPI-AIC spread over 10,000 sqft shall be equipped with state-of-the art physical infrastructure, lab, common office facilities along with a dedicated team for conducting hackathons, idea challenges, workshops, trainings, technical & business mentoring sessions, assisting start-ups in the matters of IPR filing, legal, accounting etc. With target to incubate about 65 innovate disruptive technology start-ups over a period of 5 years, the AIC shall be a major contributor in promotion of start-ups & entrepreneurs.

The Atal Incubation Centre of STPINEXT at Bengaluru shall offer single-window comprehensive services to start-ups working in the prescribed domain which may include the following:

Healthcare

Electronic commerce drawns on technologies such as mobile commerce, electronic funds transfer, supply chain management etc.

 
Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is an extensional term for Information Technology (IT) that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunications.

 
Internet of Things (IoT)

The internet of things is a system of interconnected and interrelated computing devices, mechanical/digital machine, objects animals or people that uniquely identifiable.

With IoT, the entity is connected to the internet and it can be monitored & controlled remotely.

Mentors

Who can apply

  1.  A registered entity which fulfils the definition of “Start up” of DPIIT reproduced below and as amended from time to time:
    •  Company Type: It should be incorporated as a private limited company or registered as a partnership firm or a limited liability partnership
    •  Annual Turnover: Its turnover should be less than INR 100 Crores in any of the previous financial years
    •  Age: It should NOT be older than 10 years (i.e. incorporated within last 10 years)
    •  Original Entity: It should NOT be an entity formed by splitting up or reconstruction of an existing business 
    •  Innovative & Scalable: It should be working towards innovation/improvement of existing products, services and processes and should have the potential to generate employment/create wealth.
  2.  It should be working in the prescribed fields/domains as decided by STPI and/or STPINEXT including but not limited to Healthcare, E-Commence, ICT & Electronics, IoT.

Other Terms and Conditions

  1. Beneficiary Start-ups have to operate from STPI Bengaluru Incubation Facility.
  2. Beneficiary Start-ups shall offer equity-stake to STPI, STPINEXT and other stakeholders/partners and pay space charges as decided & agreed upon. The decision of STPI shall be final in this regard.
